Bingo World Becomes Maryland’s Sixth Legal Bookmaker – Gambling Industry News

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission (MLGCC) has announced that it has issued a sports betting license to Bingo World in Brooklyn Park.

The property, located in Anne Arundel County, endured two days of controlled protests on July 21 and 25. These demonstrations were conducted under the direction of MLGCC staff and satisfied the Commission that Bingo World had the appropriate technology and procedures in place to meet its licensing requirements.

According to Maryland law HB940, Bingo World is among 17 properties and business entities allowed to apply for a license to run sports betting operations. However, it is only the sixth to be launched.

The current list of sportsbooks in Maryland is:

The MLGCC also revealed that three off-track betting sites – Long Shot’s in Frederick, Riverboat on the Potomac in Charles County and Greenmount Station in Hampstead – are now approved for sports betting in Maryland and are expected to launch in the future. close. .
