• The Reed City Area District Library is hosting a story hour at 11:30 am Wednesday, April 13, which will include stories and activities. For more information, visit reedcitylibrary.org. or call 231-832-2131.

• The Great American Crossroads Celebration Committee will meet for a planning session at 5:30 pm April 14 at Sunny’s Sports Bar and Grill in Reed City. Anyone interested in being part of the celebration is welcome. Volunteers are needed.


• The Evart DDA will host a meeting of the Sustainable Built Environment Initiative at 6 pm, April 14, at The Depot, 200 S. Main St., Evart. For more information, contact the DDA at 231-734-0185.

• Evart UAW Local 2270 will host the annual Easter Egg Drop at 1 p.m., April 16, at Evart High School, 6221 95th Ave., Evart, for ages 12 and under .

• The annual Ike Reed Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 1:00 p.m., April 16, at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Grounds, 21940 6 Mile Rd., Reed City.

• The Purple Pepper, 18700 20th Ave., Barryton will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 am April 16 for ages 10 and under. Bring your own container.

• There will be a free soccer clinic for students in grades 3-8 from 10 am to noon on April 16 at 4151 Wild Turkey Trail, Reed City. Coach Jeff Pill and several Maranatha Baptist University men’s soccer teams will lead the clinic. To register for the clinic, go to fbcreedcity.com/youth-sports.

• The Reed City City Council will meet at 6:00 pm, April 18, at City Hall, 227 E. Lincoln Ave., Reed City. For more information, visit reedcity.org or call 231-832-2245.

• Evart Town Council will meet at 8:00 pm, April 18, at the Depot, 200 Main Street, Evart. For more information, visit evart.org or call 231-734-2181.

• The Reed City City Council will host a public discussion regarding “joining” marijuana sales at 6:00 pm, April 19, at City Hall, 227 E. Lincoln Ave., Reed City. For more information, visit reedcity.org or call 231-832-2245.

• The Travelers Bar in Leroy will be hosting a paint party from 4-7pm on April 23rd. The cost is $30 paid in advance to Shirley Grahek via Venmo. Call 231-768-4471 to reserve a spot.

• The Evart Public Library will host a fundraising dinner from 5-7 pm, April 23, at the Evart Moose Lodge, 8400 US-10, Evart. A chicken and meatball dinner with all the trimmings is $9 in advance and $10 at the door for adults 12 and older, $4 for ages 5-11 and free for children under 4 years. Advance tickets can be purchased at the library.

• Collection of Evart bagged leaves will begin on April 25 and will continue every Monday until next fall. The leaves must be in biodegradable bags. Brush pick-up will also begin on April 25 and will take place on the last Monday of each month throughout the season. Leaf and brush collection must be ready by 7:00 a.m.

• The Remus Area Historical Society will host a community forum from 5:30 to 7 pm, April 27, at Wheatland Township Hall, 201 S. Sheridan Ave., Remus. The topic of the forum is Honoring Our Community. Excerpts from the film Remus Elder Oral History will be screened and guest speakers will lead discussions on various topics. Snacks will be provided. • The Evart Garden Club is looking for volunteers to help plant and maintain the downtown pleasure gardens. Working days are Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Email [email protected] for more information.

• The Reed City Heritage Museum is open 1-4 pm Friday-Tuesday at 138 W. Slosson Ave., Reed City. Free entry. Groups are welcome.

• The Crossroads Quilt Guild meets at 6:30 p.m., at the Church of the Nazarene, 5300 220th Ave., Reed City, on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Interested persons are welcome without being members. All levels of quilting are encouraged to attend.

• The Reed City Pantry will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City. Clients can come once a month for 12 months.

• The Reed City Senior Center at 219 E. Todd Ave., hosts the following events each week: Wednesdays at noon – Fun Bingo; Thursdays at noon-Euchre; Friday – doors open at 10:30 a.m., Early Bird at 11:30 a.m. and Regular Bingo at noon.
