The lecture series targets the McCully Heritage Project on Tuesday

ALTON – The Sierra Club Speaker Series event will be held in person at the Old Bakery Beer Company at 400 Landmarks Blvd. in Alton. The speaking program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The McCully Heritage Project is a 940-acre nonprofit environmental center located in Calhoun County. Michelle Berg will discuss the history and current programs of the McCully Heritage Project, as well as the environmental education opportunities the project provides. McCully Marsh will be 25 years old next year and has reached full maturity. The wetland is also home to a family of beavers.

Berg will explain how the beaver family changed the wetland and why their home is an exciting opportunity for the McCully Heritage Project and its visitors.
