The Sierra Club is hosting a sustainability conference on Tuesday

ALTON – The Sierra Club will host a speaker series event at the Old Bakery Beer Company, 400 Landmarks Blvd., in Alton from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13.

Dr. Jennifer Russell, Assistant Professor, Virginia Tech College of Natural Resources & Environment, works in the area of ​​circular economy and sustainability, material flows in economic consumption production systems, and strategies to slow down and shut down material loops.

She will explain that many people talk about the “circular economy”, but that there is much more than just an increase in recycling, but that it is necessary to take measures to reuse products and materials considered as waste. .
