Friends of the Library Book Sale

Friends of the Corning Library is hosting their annual Spring Book Sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 9 at the Corning Library, 740 Third St., Corning. The event will include door prizes, a raffle and very affordable book prizes.

Drive-In Children’s Book Party

A free community event for children ages 5 and up will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., April 8, at the Corning Library parking lot, Solano and Third Streets Corning. Those who attend will receive a free book, activities, materials and family resources.

40th Annual Corning Jr. Rodeo

The 40th Annual Corning Jr. Rodeo will be held Saturday, May 28 at the Estil Clark Park Rodeo Ground on Fig Lane in Corning. The Rodeo Queen Mixer will take place on Friday, May 27 at the rodeo grounds. The event will include a rodeo competition by local youth, queens contest, stick horse contest, muttin’ bustin’, food, raffle and more.

The Corning Senior Center serves lunches for seniors Monday through Friday. 11:30 a.m., 1015 Fourth Avenue, 824-4727. Due to COVID-19, at this time, lunches are only served at the wheel.

Join the Friends of the Library group

Friends of the Corning Library is looking for new members to share in the volunteer efforts to keep the Corning Library current and available to all who need its various services. As volunteers, members of the Friends of the Library sponsor and participate in a summer reading program for children in the community, receive donations of used books and prepare them for sale at the library and periodically throughout sales. the day at the library, and organize two book sales annually. Members also assist the Librarian with hosting events, trimming the Christmas tree, and serving a holiday luncheon in honor of library volunteers, organizations, and individuals who have generously supported the library.
